Using our Advanced Mailbox

What is an Advanced Mailbox?

An Advanced mailbox is similar to our standard mailbox but it offers the following important advantages:

• Anti-spam: Two separate industry standard anti-spam programs are used to filter out spam. Spam can either be deleted without you downloading it, or it can be marked as spam in its subject line so that you can send it to a special spam folder on your computer.
• Anti-virus: Where messages are found to contain a virus, the virus is removed. The text content is preserved so that you can see who the message was from.
• Extra storage: Our normal account allows for the storage of up to 20Mb of mail. Advanced mailboxes allow the storage of up to 100Mb of mail, allowing you to archive messages for longer if so desired.
• Send from your own domain name: Most ordinary email must be sent user the mail-sending server provided by your ISP. Check your email settings to find the name of the server you use to send email. If you connect to the Internet using BT, you will send mail from a server with a name such as 'mail.btconnect.com' . If you are with NTL, your outgoing mail server may be something like 'smtp.ntlworld.com'.
  With an Advanced Mailbox, you can use your own domain name in the sending server address. So, if your domain name is 'mywidgets.com' then you could send mail using the mail server 'smtp.mywidgets.com'.
  Next time you change your Internet Service Provider, you won't need to change your email settings. And your customers will see your emails as coming directly from your website name - not from BT or NTL.

Control panel

Optional Extra: We can provide you with your own control panel for your Advanced Mailbox. This will allow you to set up auto-responders, change passwords, change spam settings etc.

Costs

• An Advanced mailbox costs £25.00 per year.
• A Control Panel costs £25.00 - a one-off payment. (optional)
  You only need one Control Panel even if your have more than one Advanced Mailbox.
